Looking for somewhere new to enjoy a fun day out with your pup? Luckily, there are so many fantastic places in the Twin Cities to choose from.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing bookstore to browse for your next read or a fun brewery with great beer for a night with friends, you’ll find something on this list. These are the best dog-friendly places to visit in the Twin Cities.

Dog-Friendly Breweries

Looking for a great brewery with good beer and an equally good ambiance? The Twin Cities are bursting with craft brewers to choose from.

1. Unleashed Hounds and Hops

This list wouldn’t be complete without this relatively new addition to the metro area. While not technically a brewery, Unleashed Hops and Hounds is a fantastic spot for great beer and food.

But that’s not the best part! This bar and eatery also feature an indoor dog park. Your dog can have fun and get some much-needed socialization, while you enjoy a cold beer and delicious food.

2. Lakes & Legends

Lakes & Legends is a great dog-friendly brewery located in downtown Minneapolis. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are always welcome in their taproom and outdoor patio area, year-round.

They have plenty of space for you and your dog to be comfortable, and they feature great food trucks (and of course great craft beer).

3. Lake Monster Brewing

Located in St. Paul, this dog-friendly brewery features a super spacious patio for the warm days ahead, and their taproom is also dog-friendly.

Lake Monster Brewing is the perfect place to gather with your pup-loving friends or family and enjoy a tasty craft brew and food truck eats.

1. Craft & Crew Restaurants

Craft & Crew owns many fantastic restaurants in the metro, and all of them feature an entire dog menu.

Whether you go to Duke’s on 7 in Minnetonka, Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room, or The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar in South Minneapolis, every Craft & Crew restaurant has a heated patio (or pawtios, as they call them!).

2. St. Paul Tap

Like Craft & Crew’s restaurants, St. Paul Tap also features an entire doggie menu for your furry friend and a spacious patio for you both to enjoy. For days when the pups stay home, you can find tons of fun games, including console, arcade, and table games, inside to play.

3. In the Loop Coffee

It’s rare to find a coffee shop that allows dogs both inside and out, but In the Loop coffee is dog-friendly in both respects. Order a delicious coffee or pastry, and add a puppacino for your favorite pup!

Dog Parks and Trails

If you’re looking to experience the great outdoors with your dog, there’s no short supply of beautiful trails and scenery in the Twin Cities.

1. Minnehaha Off-Leash Dog Park

This is the largest off-leash dog park in the Twin Cities, and it has a little something for everyone to enjoy. This park stretches across the Mississippi riverfront, providing the perfect place for your dog to run and swim, and there are hiking trails to explore if you’d prefer a drier adventure.

2. Elm Creek Off-Leash Dog Park

This gorgeous dog park is located in Maple Grove, and it features 29-acres of fenced-in fun for your pup to enjoy, and there’s even a separate area for small and frail dogs to feel safe. Your dog can also play in the fenced wetland pond.

Fort Snelling State Park offers an incredible trail system for you and your dog to explore, but they are required to stay on leash.

Dog-Friendly Stores

Running errands is so much more fun (not to mention easier) when you can bring your furry companion along with you. There are lots of stores across the Twin Cities and greater metro area that allow dogs inside, and those below are just a few of the great choices that you have.

1. Birchbark Books

2. Frattallone’s Ace Hardware

Hardware stores are fantastic places to practice your dog’s leash manners, as well as socialize them in a different, exciting environment. All of the Frattallone’s Ace Hardware locations throughout the metro (as well as other Ace Hardware franchises) are all dog-friendly and locally owned.
